- Bookmaker
- A bookmaker is a company or person that sets odds and accepts bets on sporting events.
- Chalk
- Chalk refers to the team or player heavily favored to win, shown by low odds.
- Closing Line
- The closing line is the final set of odds offered just before a game starts; getting a bet at a better closing line signals a valuable wager.
- Dutching
- Dutching is the practice of betting on multiple selections in the same event to ensure a profit no matter which one wins.
- Futures Bet
- A futures bet is placed on an outcome that will be decided later, like which team wins the tournament before it starts.
- Handicapping
- Handicapping is the process of analyzing statistics, form, and other factors to estimate the likely outcome of a game and find value in the odds.
- Hedge
